Giving your phone a rest will help you sleep

    Tuesday, March 16, 2021

Giving your phone or other mobile device a rest for 90 minutes or more could be enough to reset your body for a better night's sleep. Studies show that the ‘blue light’ emitted from the mobile device screens enormously reduce the ability for quality sleep.

This blue light disrupts your sleeping pattern by preventing the production of the melatonin hormone which controls your sleep/wake cycle. This results in difficulties falling asleep and, consequently, waking up the next day.

If you're reading an article or an email, or scrolling through Facebook, for example, you're stimulating your brain activity which will prompt a response to stay awake. This could make you feel tired or fatigued the following day and far less productive and sometimes irritable.
